Are you going on holiday in the next few days and worried about revealing your pasty flesh on the beach? Well fear no more, as one airport is giving away free spray tans to all passengers until this Sunday. If you're lucky enough to be jetting off from Gatwick Airport this week, you could take advantage of the offer from Gatwick Glow and no longer be one of the 32 per cent of people who dread stripping off on the first day of a holiday.
To launch the new Gatwick Glow pre-flight tanning service, the airport carried out a survey that revealed that people are more worried about looking pale on holiday than uncovering their cellulite and wobbly bits.
More than half the people polled felt more confident on the first day at the beach with a tan and 36 per cent of men were especially concerned about looking pasty compared to 29 per cent of women.
Kim Francis, Gatwick Airport's marketing manager, said: "Gatwick Glow is designed to give our passengers a boost. We want them to head off on their holiday feeling great about themselves.
"And, with almost half of holidaymakers worrying about burning on the first day, we've partnered with St Tropez to offer the spray tan facility so passengers can fly off already sunkissed, which we hope will prevent them from overdoing it on the beach."
What do you think? Would having a tan before you start your holiday give you confidence? Leave your comments below...

excellent idea, but remember to still use sun protection as a spray tan does not give your skin any protection from sun burn,

' Lucky enough to be jetting off from Gatwick' ......Ha VERY HA. A pity that Gatwick and its operators cannot treat people as human beings rather than cattle. The last time we flew through there, a supercilious woman in some sort of supervisory capacity came up to my wife (we were going home to Spain after a family wedding.)
"Oh, where are YOU going to today?" She sneered. "Home" said my wife "OH WHERE might that be then?" "That's my business" said my wife.
Then, on the plane "Would you like to put that (wide brimmed) hat in the lockers?" ..... "NO, it will get screwed up. " It can be a danger to other passengers!"
So she wore it all the way back.
On another occasion we were kept waiting at Gatwick for 7 hours while they found a plane because ours broke down. No refreshments offered. The reserve plane was a 20 year old crate with rattling light fittings hanging off the ceiling and although there were about 100 empty seats I was not allowed to sit near a window, which I had a ticket for which made me vomit for the first time ever on a plane. Fake tans - a load of crap, sort out your staff first and employ Humans not performing apes.

More like Grouchy than Graunchet.. get a life she was just trying to be friendly.
The staff are just doing their jobs. Just like people that yell at the staff at check in desks, it isn't their fault theplane is delayed so why yell at them.
I admit airports are one major hassle most of the time but hey, you know before you go. Don't like it, stay at home.

Let's hope it's not the smelly stuff, or those flights to Ibiza will be even more choking with chemical fumes than usual. Viva las chavs!
