Jennifer Grey partners with Cheryl Cole's friend Derek Hough in Dancing With The Stars

Jennifer GreyNo one puts Baby in the corner.

And almost 25 years after Dirty Dancing, Jennifer Grey, is back on the dance floor on the U.S. version of Strictly.

Jennifer has partnered with Derek Hough, two time winner of the Dancing With The Stars, and constant 'companion' of Cheryl Cole, in one of the most anticipated debuts of the series.

Jennifer said that she signed up to the show because she thought it would be "really fun."

She said: "I thought it would be a really great way to challenge myself and show by example to my eight-year-old what it's like to watch mommy walk through her fears."

She also admitted: "I'm scared silly."

Jennifer's appearance has changed drastically since her appearance in the hit film – because she had a nose job in the early 90s.

The first procedure was disastrous, and she required a second op to fix the damage.

The surgery transformed her appearance to the point that even close friends failed to recognise her, and it negatively affected her career.

At the time she said: "I went in the operating room a celebrity – and came out anonymous. It was like being in a witness protection program or being invisible."

Jennifer, who lives in Los Angeles, has been married to actor/director Clark Gregg for nine years. They have an eight year old daughter, Stella.

Surgeons develop new bra you wear under the skin

Woman wearing braWe've had the push-up bra, the plunge bra, the gel bra, the stick on bra – and now surgeons have invented the ultimate invisible bra.

The only trouble is, you wear it underneath your skin and the surgery needed to fit it costs £6,000.

The Internal Bra System is a mesh support which can be inserted instead of implants. It is put under the skin of the breast and attached with stitches to a layer of fat above the breast tissue.

Ouch.

Called Breform, the system is similar to that used in hernia operations as it supports the new shape, taking the strain off scars and skin.

There are currently six UK surgeons trained to insert the mesh, which they describe as "a bra cup without the straps."

Consultant breast surgeon Fiona Court, from Nuffield Heath in Cheltenham, said: "Over time, with gravity and pressures on the tissue, the skin stretches and you get drooping. The Breform supports the breast tissue into its new position.

"It is a very safe mesh and you cannot feel it when it is under the skin. It is effectively a thin layer of sponge but it has enough strength to support the breast tissue."

The system is expected to last longer than implants, which usually have a ten-year life and worldwide trials have identified no serious complications.

Cheerleaders wear leggings and baggy shirts in nod to Muslim laws

CheerleadersThe average cheerleader doesn't tend to wear too many clothes.

But all that changed at the basketball World Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.

The ladies of the Ukranian Red Foxes troupe decided to swap their usual uniform of tight lycra tops and hotpants for white baggy t-shirts and black leggings for the USA vs Iran match.

Organisers said that it was "a nod to Muslim law" and the cheerleaders dressed appropriately as they were representing Iran.

Cheerleaders for the USA also wore more modest outfits than usual – but it wasn't enough to appease hardline Iranian officials, who left the areas shortly after they took to the floor.

The presence of cheerleaders at the tournament has caused problems for Turkey, a nation which is overwhelmingly Muslim.

Cheerleaders were missing altogether from Turkey's two most recent matches in Ankara. At other matches, officials turned their backs in order to avoid looking at the scantily-clad dancers.

Patrick Baumann, secretary-general of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) said "special arrangements" had been made with the dancers dress.

He said: "We want entertainment to be part of the basketball game. If it needs a little bit of adjustment that is fine with us."

'Teach stewardesses to fly the plane,' says Ryaniar boss

Air stewardessThe days when being an air hostess seemed like a glamorous job are long gone.

After all, where's the glamour in trundling up and down the aisle on a charter flight to Spain handing out overpriced drinks to cramped and grumpy passengers?

But controversial Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary has come up with a plan to make cabin crew jobs even more stressful.

He has called for the second pilot to be dumped from the flight deck of aircraft to save money – and has suggested that stewardesses could be trained to take over and land the plane in the event of a crisis.

In a magazine interview he said: "Why does every plane have two pilots? Really, you only need one."

When asked what would happen if the single pilot suffered a heart attack he said one of the cabin crew would be trained to land a plane.

"If the pilot has an emergency, he rings the bell, he calls her in. She could take over."

Pilots have criticised his plans as dangerous and preposterous.

Clue found to older women's fertility problems

A team of scientists from Newcastle University believe they are close to discovering the reason for older women's fertility problems.

The researchers found that a a decreased level of proteins called cohesins, which are essential for the proper division of chromosomes to allow fertilisation, could be responsible for older women's problems with conceiving.

If there is too little cohesin to bind chromosomes from a sperm and an egg, the structure will be too 'floppy' to form a properly fertilised embryo.

If the egg is abnormal, problems such as infertility, miscarriage and conditions including Down's Syndrome can occur.

The researchers looked at eggs in young and old mice and found that levels of cohesin do decrease with age.

Dr Mary Herbert, of the Centre for Life at Newcastle University, said: "Reproductive fitness in women declines dramatically from the mid-thirties onwards. Our findings point to cohesin being a major culprit in this.

"The aged mice we used are equivalent to a woman in her early forties.

"Cohesin levels were very much reduced in eggs from older mice and the chromosomes underwent a very messy division resulting in the wrong number of chromosomes being retained in the egg.

"If we can understand this, we will be in a better position to know if there is any possibility of developing interventions to help reduce cohesin loss."

But Dr Herbert added: "Undoubtedly, the best way for women to avoid this problem is to have their children earlier."

The study has already drawn interest and approval from other doctors and scientists.

Adam Balen, professor of reproductive medicine and surgery at the Leeds Centre for Reproductive Medicine, said: "This is a neat explanation as to why we see mismatches in chromosomes as women get older."

ut he stated that it was "far too early to say" whether the findings would benefit older women hoping to conceive.

What do you think? Could there soon be hope for older women wanting to have a baby? Leave your comments below...

Church laughs at Stephen Hawking's god claim

Stephen Hawking angered religious groups yesterday when he categorically stated that the universe was not created by God but it came into being itself.

His claims, something of a U-turn on his previous opinions, have been described as "laughable" by religious leaders who stand by their belief in creationism.

In his latest book, The Grand Design, Hawking states: "Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing.

"Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist.

"It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the universe going."

However, at the end of his his bestseller, A Brief History of Time, Hawking said that until scientists can discover the most fundamental laws of nature, "then we should know the mind of God".

Several religious leaders have spoken out against Hawking, finding it ridiculous that the world could be created without divine intervention.

Stephen Green, the national director of Christian Voice, said: "Atheists and other people like Hawking use evolutionism as a crutch to stop them having to believe in God.

"When you look at the wonder and grandeur of the universe it is clear that its creation involved a greater power. Atheists just flounder around looking for anything that can keep them from believing in God. I find it laughable."

And not only Christians but also Muslims have ridiculed Hawking's theory.

Inayat Bunglawala, spokesman for Muslims4UK said: "Islam teaches that it is God who is the ultimate creator.

"Atheists are left in a ridiculous position to argue that the universe brought itself into existence. Hawking is known as a major scientist but in recent years he has come to a dead end and his theory is a source of amusement."

In The Grand Design, which is to be published next week, Hawking explains that the question over how the universe came into being can now be answered since scientists have come up with a theory called M-theory.

This theory, once backed up with experiments, may be able to describe the behaviour of fundamental particles and forces and how the universe was created.

Cougar, MILF, nag... Feminists fight back against sexist language

Madonna and JesusHow would you feel about being called a cougar or a MILF?

Would you be offended? Upset?

Or would you be secretly pleased?

After all, Madonna, pictured with her boyfriend Jesus Luz, has been called both, so you'd be in glamorous company.

Whatever your opinion, there are plenty of words frequently used to describe women that are plain sexist or outright offensive – after all, no one likes being called a nag.

That's why women's groups in the U.S. have put together a chart called the Pyramid of Egregiousness to classify the hate words used against women.

Words like cougar, nag and feminazi have been organised into a colourful triangle, as part of a feminist project spearheaded by U.S. feminist Gloria Steinem to use the internet to network, campaign and challenge perceptions.

At the top of the triangle are words classed as severe misogyny, including whore and slut.

Next come the backstabbing phrases and euphemisms like ice queen and nag.

At the bottom are the daily, commonplace words used to belittle women, like babe, sweetie or girl.

You can see the Pyramid at NameItChangeIt.org and it's worth a look, just to see how many words all of us use without thinking.

What do you think are the worst words used to describe women? Leave a comment below...
